So Bravo has me hooked. I love everything that starts with The Real Housewives…except maybe for Miami (that was just annoying). It’s my huge guilty pleasure and not for the reason that you might think. I don’t watch the show to watch the women fight each other and behave badly. Actually I prefer the moments when they are interacting with their families because it lets me see that the upper class of the world are not immune to the occasional toddler throwing a temper tantrum and it’s comforting to know that motherhood is challenging for all of us….I’m also slightly obsessed with their fabulous closets and amazing shoes.
So break open a bottle of wine, pour yourself a glass, and put on you Louboutin shoes (or cute non name brand ones you got off the clearance rack at JC Penny’s if your like me) because here is our list of our five favorite boy mom’s on The Real Housewives….
5. Lydia McLaughlin
4. Eileen Davidson
The newest Real Housewife of Beverly Hills showed herself to be a pretty awesome mother in the first few episodes. I loved watching her make lists for her son Jesse before she went out of town because I feel like I am always making lists for my husband and boys (and then still half the time I don’t trust them to do things as well as I would). I gained a lot of respect for her when she discussed the trials she went thru to prove herself as a good stepmom to her two stepsons Duke and Vinney. It takes a strong woman to love someone else’s kids as if they were her own. We also like Eileen because while some of the other boy mom’s in Beverly Hills are getting drunk and acting trashy she always is a class act.
3. Phaedra Parks
Ok, I have to start this off by saying that little boys smile is just too freaking cute! Our favorite boy mom of Atlanta is busy raising a prince and a president and that would be a tall order for anyone. She is also dealing with trying to raise them alone while their dad is incarcerated which is a plight a lot of women have to face. I really found it commending when she went to speak with a doctor to determine the best way to help Dylan and Ayden through their fathers departure. You can tell that she really worries about her sons and that they are her first priority in all the chaos.
2. Lizzie Rovsek
I felt bad for this Real Housewife of Orange County when some idiots took to the internet and attacked her for having a three year old that was still in diapers. Potty training is hard at least he wasn’t wearing a potty hat on national television (if you haven’t read my potty training post do so and you will understand). Lizzie handled the situation with grace and blogged about her difficulties potty training and how every kid develops differently. We shouldn’t judge each other as mother’s we should help pick each other up. My son had temper tantrums when he was little and often refused to go to bed. Preston and Kingston look like normal awesome kids to me.
1. Jacqueline Laurita
Our number one Real Housewives boy mom isn’t living in a man cave because she has a daughter but,she is outnumbered three to two which is good enough for us. Jacqueline gets this honor because when her son Nicholas was diagnosed with autism she allowed the world to see how a mother copes with a diagnosis like that. She showed us it’s ok to hurt but she also showed us how to fight like hell. She is Nicholas’s best advocate and continuously educates herself and others about autism. She also impressed us by worrying about how her other son Christopher was doing and feeling. When one child has a diagnosis like Autism and takes extra work it’s always important to make sure you are there for your other kids and this Real Housewife of New Jersey seems to handle it all.
Tiffany O’Connor is a mom to two amazing, energetic, and fearless boys. She is married to her high school sweet heart and has three college degrees. Her hobbies include watching TV shows about zombies, hiding in her hot tub with a bottle of champagne, and writing all about her misadventures parenting in a “man cave” at #Lifewithboys.
